Cooperation between Building Envelope Switzerland and SunStyle

SunStyle has been an official cooperation partner of Building Envelope Switzerland since 1 January 2023.

What is the purpose of this association?

The Swiss Building Envelope Association is committed to a balanced social partnership in terms of application techniques and training policy.

With their expertise and know-how, building envelope specialists offer innovative and proven solutions for energy efficiency and sustainability. This makes them part of the global commitment to climate change.

Founded in 1907 as the Swiss Association of Master Roofers, the structure is now a professional and employers’ association representing the interests of more than 900 building envelope technology companies in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland and in Ticino.

Goals and purpose of Building Envelope Switzerland

“We take the Energy Strategy 2050 seriously”.

The building envelope has a dual function:

• On the one hand, with excellent tightness and strong thermal insulation, it helps to save energy.
• On the other hand, it produces energy via thermal and photovoltaic solar systems on the roofs and façades.

The result is buildings with an energy surplus that contributes to the conservation of energy resources.

In its “Vision 2050”, the association supports the goals of Swissolar and promotes the active use of solar energy. It aims to be a technical and business leader in the industry and to develop a continuously adapted educational programme. It maintains a network in politics and business in which it aims to position itself as an expert. In addition, the association represents the interests of employers vis-à-vis employees.

Why is SunStyle a cooperation partner?

As experts in the energy renovation of a building, the professionals of Building Envelope Switzerland have a great influence on the Swiss building stock and the energy market of the future. For SunStyle, it is therefore natural to cooperate with such renowned experts in order to pass on our solar roof solutions to other members of the network. Especially since Building Envelope Switzerland also benefits from this bilateral knowledge transfer!

As a Silver Partner, SunStyle is an information transfer partner of Building Envelope Switzerland for photovoltaics, energy storage and energy generation.

In addition, after founding its own roofing school in 1949, Building Envelope Switzerland now runs training in the building envelope sector together with 4 partner associations. Thus, around 900 apprentices are trained in the building envelope professions (waterproofing, roofing, façade construction and scaffolding) according to the latest state of the art. The latest findings in the areas of energy efficiency and solar technology are continuously incorporated into the education and training of professionals in this sector.
